RockAX
Impulse-Enhanced Hard Rock Drilling
RockAX delivers high-frequency impulse energy to the drill bit, empowering the bit to drill much faster and much farther into hard rock than ever before.

Drilling deeper, faster, smarter.
RockAX technology supercharges PDC diamond drilling systems by delivering high frequency impulse energy to the bit. This energy encourages the bit to overcome the strength of the rock more easily, to bite deeper to remove more material, more efficiently. This delivers faster and more stable drilling and at the same time greatly reduces bit wear.
For hard rock drilling projects, this delivers:
Faster drilling and shorter drilling times
Fewer bit trips, cutting downtime
Fewer bits to purchase reducing bit cost
Lower drilling cost and lower project risk
For geothermal drilling projects, this means:
Reduced upfront capital cost and risk
Lower levelised cost of energy (LCOE)
Access to deeper, hotter and more challenging rock formations
Unlocking resources that were previously too difficult or expensive to reach.
Delivering geothermal everywhere
Simple to Integrate. Fully Autonomous.
The power of RockAX lies in its simplicity.
Our plug-and-play design allows the technology to be integrated into existing drilling systems with no modification.
RockAX:
Is powered entirely by the drilling fluid already used in conventional drilling
Introduces no additional pressure drop at the tool
Requires no costly surface control or power systems
Does not need compressed air or complex cross-flow cooling
Does not rely on unproven technologies of plasma, millimetre waves or lasers
Operates automatically and autonomously
This simple architecture enables drilling in the deepest and hottest of wells, helping unlock the vast energy potential of superhot rock and other difficult-to-reach geothermal and conventional resources.
Proven in the Field
RockAX, paired with our TerrAX bit is already drilling wells today, helping unlock today’s energy needs here and now.
Proven to drill twice as fast
Proven to drill twice as far
Proven in ultra-high temperatures
