Information We Collect
This website does not have a contact form, and we do not ask you to create an account or submit personal information through it. The information we may hold falls into three groups:
Enquiries you send us directly. If you email or phone us, we will receive the details you choose to share, such as your name, email address, phone number, company and the content of your message.
Anonymous analytics. We measure how the website is used with Rybbit, a cookie-less analytics tool. See "Analytics" below.
Technical data. Our web server automatically records basic technical information such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested. We use this only to keep the website secure and working properly.
How We Use Your Information
We use personal data to:
Respond to your enquiries and provide technical or commercial support
Keep the website secure and investigate technical problems
Understand, in aggregate, how the website is used so we can improve it
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling.
Analytics
We use Rybbit to understand which pages are visited and how people find the website. Rybbit is cookie-less: it does not set cookies or store anything on your device, and we do not use it to track you across websites or build profiles of individual visitors. The information we see is aggregated, such as page views, referring websites, browser and device type, and general location. Rybbit runs on our own server in the United Kingdom, and this data is not shared with any third-party analytics provider.
Because no cookies or similar technologies are used for analytics, we do not show a cookie consent banner.
Cookies
The only cookies this website sets are essential ones, needed for the site to work securely:
XSRF-TOKEN: protects against cross-site request forgery attacks (expires at the end of your session)
axion-downhole-ltd-session: holds temporary session data, such as error messages (expires at the end of your session)
These do not track you or identify you personally, and because they are strictly necessary they do not require consent. We do not use advertising, marketing or third-party tracking cookies.
Legal Basis for Processing
We process personal data under the following lawful bases:
Legitimate interests: to respond to enquiries, keep the website secure, and understand anonymous usage so we can improve it, provided this does not override your rights and freedoms
Contract: where you contact us about products or services and we need to take steps at your request
Legal obligation: where we are required to comply with the law
Sharing Your Information
We do not share your personal data with third parties except:
With trusted service providers who help us run the website and our business, such as web hosting and email providers, who may only act on our instructions
Where required by law or to protect our legal rights
International Transfers
We aim to keep personal data within the United Kingdom. Where a service provider processes data outside the UK, we make sure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or an adequacy decision.
Data Retention
We keep personal data only for as long as needed for the purpose it was collected, including to meet legal, accounting or reporting requirements. Enquiry emails are kept for as long as the conversation or business relationship continues, and are then deleted when no longer needed. Server logs are kept for a short period and then deleted.
Security
This website is served over HTTPS, and access to the systems that hold personal data is restricted. Email is not always end-to-end encrypted, so please avoid sending sensitive personal or financial information to us by email.
Your Rights
Under data protection law, you have the right to:
Access the personal data we hold about you
Ask us to correct or delete your data
Object to or restrict how we process your data
Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent
Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113
To exercise any of these rights, email info@axiondownhole.com. We will respond within one month.
Embedded Video
Some pages include a video hosted on YouTube. We use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode, which means YouTube does not set cookies on your device until you play the video. Once you play it, YouTube's own privacy policy applies to any data it collects.
Links to Other Websites
This website may link to other websites, such as our website developer. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, so please read their policies before sharing any personal data.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a new "last updated" date.
